Caring for it

Natural stone is porous. It's usually sealed after laying and resealed over time. Clean with stone-safe, pH-neutral products and avoid acids such as vinegar or lemon juice, which can etch marble and travertine.

Laying tips

  • Start with a flat floor. Large tiles show every hump — level the substrate first.
  • Get full coverage. Back-butter tiles as well as trowelling the floor, especially in wet and outdoor areas.
  • Keep offsets to one-third on long tiles to reduce lippage.
  • Blend from several boxes so tone and veining mix evenly.
